Terms of Service & Business Rules

By booking a consultation or using this website, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Heat Transfer Consultant LLC provides live, one-on-one engineering consultations focused on heat transfer and heat exchanger design. Sessions are booked in fixed lengths (5 to 60 minutes) at the prices shown on our pricing page. Prices are in USD and include no hidden fees.

2. Booking & payment

• All bookings are paid in advance through our secure checkout, processed by Stripe.
• Your booking is confirmed only after payment succeeds. You'll receive confirmation by email.
• We accept major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay (as enabled by Stripe).
• We do not store your card details — Stripe handles all payment data.

3. Scheduling

• After payment, we contact you within 1 business day to schedule your session.
• Sessions are held by video or phone call, at a mutually agreed time.
• Please join on time — sessions end at the scheduled time and can't be extended into the next booking.
• Free rescheduling is available with at least 12 hours' notice.

4. What consultations cover — and don't

• Covered: heat transfer analysis, heat exchanger sizing/selection/rating, troubleshooting thermal equipment, design reviews, efficiency guidance, and general thermal engineering questions.
• Not covered: we do not provide stamped/sealed professional engineering drawings, legal advice, or certifications of compliance. Our guidance is advisory — final design responsibility stays with you and your licensed engineer of record.

5. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about your problem and equipment.
• Only share materials you have the right to share.
• Do not record sessions without our written permission.

6. Confidentiality

We treat everything you share in a consultation as confidential and won't disclose it to third parties except as required by law.

7. Cancellations & refunds

See our Refund Policy — 100% refund with 12+ hours' notice, 50% for late cancellations/no-shows, and remedies for service failures.

8. Limitation of liability

Our consultations are expert advice, not a substitute for your own engineering judgment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any session is limited to the amount you paid for that session. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

9. Fair use

One booking covers one client/project discussion. Abusive behavior, harassment, or attempts to defraud will result in cancellation without refund and a ban from future bookings.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; the version in effect at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
